Proxy configuration generator

Turn proxy settings into a ready-to-copy example. Choose HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5 and the terminal you use.

Run the tool

Generation runs locally and does not connect to a proxy. Credentials are placeholders by default. Explicitly including them puts real credentials in copied text and downloaded files.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter the actual proxy host, port and protocol. Add a username and password if authentication is required.
  2. Select your terminal. Keep credential placeholders or explicitly include your real credentials.
  3. Copy the example to your own terminal and run it. Execution uses proxy traffic and contacts the specified test URL.

Frequently asked questions

Will this page execute the command?

No. It generates text only. You run the command locally after checking the destination URL and proxy settings.

Why does Windows output use curl.exe?

Some PowerShell environments alias curl to another command. Calling curl.exe avoids that ambiguity. Your installed curl must support the selected proxy protocol.

What should I know about copying credentials?

Terminal history, process information, the clipboard and downloaded files may retain them. Remove credentials before sharing troubleshooting details and avoid saving them on shared devices.
